NESTLED IN RED~ Starting a still life theme, having an over abundance of peppers
in the garden, and needing to create my 2009 Christmas cards is what led to the inspiration of this piece. Also, the introduction
of oil pastels, also gave me great inspiration!!!
"Candy Apple Figs" watercolor/gesso 12"x10" $100

CANDY APPLE FIGS~ In the spring of 2008, my art
class assignment was to paint with a limited pallet. Emerald green and cadmium red were the colors I chose for these
figs. It was an enlightening exercise seeing what colors can be made with only two tubs of paint!

THROUGH AN OPEN WINDOW~ Heading toward abstraction~ Using Thalo blue for the
berries and a chaos background creates a great foundation for an abstract painting!
"Three Sisters" watercolor 14"x11" $155

|
~Anna Crawford~
THREE SISTERS~ Like my painting,
"Candy Apple Figs", this has another limited pallet, although I used three colors instead of two. The colors are
Indian Yellow, Thalo Red and Thalo Blue. In some places, the white of the paper is allowed to come through. I love the interaction
with the complementary colors!

GOLDEN HOUR~ Heading toward abstraction~
My teacher took a photo of daisies growing in her garden for the reference of this painting. Her instructions were to
choose some elements to create a painting. I was captivated by the cones, stems, sun and jungle like background. The contrast
between the yellow and purple gave me a warm, summery feeling inside!
"Butterfly Strata" watercolor/collage 11"x14"$155

BUTTERFLY STRATA~ Heading toward
abstraction~ This collage was a class inspired creation where we studied strata in the landscape. The scene is based on the
pond just down from where I spent my teen-aged years. When I gaze at this painting, I can just feel the summer
brease and the warmth of the water as I freely swim from one end to the other!
